Africa's Snake Oil

Billboards across East Africa display happy families playing in backyards smiling because they have Life Bouy, some magical product that is proven to reduce illness by 99%! What could this African snake oil be? Some Maasai natural herb like those tree roots sold in the slums? Perhaps some witchdoctor's brew concocted from rare herbs found only the Ngogoro crater. No, Life Bouy is antibacterial soap that is sold in giant displays in grocery store. Where Americans have Coke displays or specials on candy and chocolate at the aisle heads of their stores, Africa has antibacterial soap.
