No where amongst the beautiful nature of Africa has the air been clean enough to prevent coughing. In fact, it isn't surprising in the least that Africa has very high rates of respiratory infections and issues. Because all cooking is done in very close quarters with limited ventilation using wood burning stoves, trash is burned, dust is constantly churned, and in Uganda huge tracts of land are regularly burned for farming purposes, African air is always hazy and unpleasant.
That's very surprising indeed! They are contributing green house gases! =P
